Summer Camp is hot at World Ice! Whether your goal is to become a competitive figure skater, hockey player or just enjoy the recreational benefits of skating, we have the perfect summer program for your child! Camp Sessions Week 1 ~ July 6th- July 10th Week 2 ~ July 13th- July 17th Week 3 ~ Aug 3rd- Aug 7th Week 4 ~ Aug 10th – Aug 14th THE STAFF Our experienced staff of professional coaches will enable skaters of all abilities to learn all the fundamental skills in a fun, challenging and rewarding atmosphere. Members of both City Ice Pavilion and World Ice Arena’s Professional Coaching Staff teach our summer camp. Our team of coaches love teaching and provides excellent instruction and encourages all skaters to practice their skills while having lots of fun. CURRICULUM Our Camp Program follows the Basic Skills Curriculum designed by US Figure Skating, the governing body for figure skating in the United States. Skaters between the ages 3-5, begin in the Snowplow Sam Program at level 1. Skaters ages 6 & up who are learning to skate for the first time begin in Basic Skills 1. Skaters at Freestyle 1 and above should register for the Figure Skating Program. OUR FACILITY The World Ice Arena at Flushing Meadows Corona Park is a brand new, state of the art, NHL sized ice skating facility complete with concessions from the World Ice Café and a pro shop with skate sharpening services. CAMP FEATURES •1-1/2 – 4-1/2 hours of on-ice time per day (depending on program) •Bi-weekly performances (parents and friends are encouraged to attend) •Low camper-to-instructor ratio ensuring individual attention and maximizing safety and learning •Skates are provided, although campers are also welcome to bring their own skates.
